We have had a very busy week and your children have coped very well with some of the pressures. They have worked hard and produced some good work.
It was lovely to see some of you at Meet the Teacher this week - I look forward to meeting you all in due course. One of points discussed was the importance of reading. It has been decided that Year 6 need to be reading for 30 minutes every school day and once at the weekend. We would ask you to sign your child's Reading Record every day to show that they have read, and for you to listen to them read at least twice a week. As discussed, this is to build stamina and vocabulary.
Next week, we will be doing some role play and drama connected with our History topic, World War Two. For this we will need some small boxes - I realise that this is short notice (but the week has been so busy that it went out of my head to ask them!) but I wondered if you had any small boxes (like shoe boxes) could they bring them in on Monday 16th. I have got some but we may not have enough.
Many thanks for your support. Have a lovely weekend.
Welcome to Year 6
