We are really pleased to share our improvement trend. Our school is now reported as being in the top 50% of all schools and in some areas the top 20%.

Section 1 Leadership and Management

Key school Aims

  • To provide a happy, caring and secure learning environment where everyone thrives through feeling safe, confident and valued and the well-being of each and every individual is a priority.
  • To continue to have a strong culture for safeguarding all pupils.
  • To nurture children to show respect, consideration and responsibility for others and their environment at all times, both within the school and the wider community.
  • To open minds through the delivery of a creative curriculum, encouraging independent, self-motivated and active learners with high expectations and enriched vocabulary.
  • To encourage and inspire all pupils and staff to achieve their true potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically through effective inclusive practice. And to have support in place for both staff and pupils as required
  • To ensure a positive and supportive ethos permeates through all aspects of school life ensuring we all celebrate our successes together, encompassed by the school values and Christian distinctiveness.
  • Ensuring the curriculum is sequenced, ambitious, coherent and planned activities to ensure pupils know more and remember more.
  • Ensuring CPD is targeted to deliver the best possible outcomes for all pupils including their well-being (esp. Covid impact).
  • Subject leaders to use the subject leadership criteria to improve the leadership and champion their subject.

 

 

Section 2 Quality of Education

Key school Aims

  • To secure better than expected progress through the delivery of a creative book based curriculum, encouraging independent, self-motivated and active learners.
  • To encourage and inspire all pupils to achieve their true potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically through effective inclusive practice, encompassed by our school values and Christian distinctiveness.
  • To secure highly effective teaching and better than expected outcomes- quality first teaching.
  • To ensure pupils gaps, misconceptions are addressed and progress evident (esp. covid impact).
  • To ensure our school curriculum intent, implementation are securely embedded throughout school.
  • Subject leaders to monitor and deliver CPD based on monitoring outcomes in light of Covid disruptions.

 

Section 3 Behaviour and Attitudes 

Key school Aims

  • To provide a happy, caring, inclusive and secure learning environment where everyone thrives through feeling safe, confident and valued and the well being of each and every individual is a priority.
  • To nurture children who show respect, consideration and responsibility for others and their environment at all times, both within the school and the wider community.
  • To rebuild metacognition strategies (learning powers) for pupils to optimise school learning and apply these during periods away from school.
  • Demand high expectations in all areas of behaviour and attitudes.
  • To continue to support identified families with improving attendance and punctuality.  

 

 

Section 4 Personal Development 

Key school Aims

  • To provide opportunities to develop pupils wider understanding of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, Uk, the world, where everyone thrives through feeling valued and the well being of each and every individual is a priority.
  • To nurture children who show respect, consideration and responsibility for others and their environment at all times, both within the school and the wider community.
  • To encourage and inspire all pupils to achieve their true potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically through effective inclusive practice focused on our Christian distinctiveness and core values.

 

 

Section 5 EYFS Provision 

Key school Aims

  • To provide a vocabulary rich environment where everyone thrives through feeling safe, confident and valued and the well-being of each and every individual is a priority.
  • To embed a coherent. sequenced, ambitious curriculum ensuring all pupils are ready for year one. 
  • To promote active learning through the delivery of a creative curriculum, encouraging independent, self- motivated and active learners with a coherent, planned progression of skills .
  • To encourage and inspire all pupils to achieve their true potential academically, socially, emotionally and physically through effective inclusive practice.
  • To ensure a positive and supportive ethos permeates through all aspects of school life ensuring we all celebrate our successes together.
  • To respond to early identification of pupils needs.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES FOR 2020 – 2023

Our Intention:

At Hazlemere Church of England our vision is to create a primary school that encourages its children to excel in all areas of the curriculum and uphold the school vision and ethos. We want to equip each child with the skills and knowledge to become a caring, confident and knowledgeable young person who has a passion for learning and achieving. We will do this by supporting, guiding and inspiring our children through excellent teaching practices. By working with our families we will create an aspirational school community in which everyone is valued and successes are celebrated.

Quality of Education

1. Continue to develop our creative ambitious curriculum from Early Years to Year 6 that equips our children for the future and ensures engagement, creativity and progression in preparation for their next stage in education.

2. Develop, implement and refine a robust assessment model to track pupil progress and wider curriculum outcomes ensuring all pupils achieve their potential.

Personal Development

3. Consistently provide excellent personal development opportunities through the creative curriculum and wider curriculum to develop childrens’ skills, knowledge, talents and interests whilst also promoting wellbeing and physical health.

Behaviour and Attitudes

4. Develop a strategic whole school approach to supporting pupils’ Behaviour and whole Wellbeing- physical and emotional.

Leadership and Management

5. Continue to offer staff high quality professional training and development linked with the strategic direction of the school, ensuring staff have the skills to effectively deliver a meaningful and aspirational curriculum that prepares our children.

6. Continue to be a leader of excellence fully engaged in teacher training opportunities.

7. Develop a strategic model to support staff wellbeing.

8. Collaborate with the Local Authority/Oxford Diocese to secure improved buildings and facilities that ensure pupils have access to high quality learning environments that meet the needs of our expanding and changing cohort for the longer term and to bridge the gap during this plan. Ensure all our pupils can access a school infrastructure that enables high quality learning experiences and ensures their safety and wellbeing.

9. School Leaders continue to hold staff to account for the planning and delivery of an excellent provision for all the pupils at Hazlemere Cof E School.
