Welcome to Year 4 2022- 2023
Dear Parents and Carers,
This year the children will be taught by myself and Miss Haq will cover on a Monday and Tuesday, which releases me for my planning and preparation session and leadership time. I am assisted by Mrs Richards, who will support individuals and groups but may also be working across the school helping with interventions. Also, this year working alongside me there will be a trainee teacher called Miss Khalil.
Please do arrange to see me if you have any concerns. If it is a short matter of information, please email via the school office. If you would prefer to talk something through with me then please ask for an appointment. The best time for this is a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday after school.
This term our class text has been 'James and the Giant peach' and this has leant itself to a whole range of cross curricular work. We really enjoyed our trip to the Roald Dahl exhibition at Aylesbury Museum . We enjoyed learning about the life of Roald Dahl and there were lots of interactive sections that we were able to experience. The day culminated in an art session where we all created a new minibeast using a variety of materials.
We are enjoying reading 'James and the Giant Peach' and the book has inspired us to write our own narratives, diaries, instructions and non- chronological reports on spiders.
We are really excited to have started our trips to the woods to begin our 'Forest School' learning and have also been lucky enough to visit Woodrow for swimming lessons.
