Child Protection Policy

Hazlemere Church of England Combined School operates the following policy on its web site, to ensure the privacy and safety of pupils at the school:

1. Where pupils are named, only their first names are given.
2. Where a photograph is used which shows a pupil, no name is displayed next to that photograph.
3. The ‘right click’ function is disabled for all photographs on the website so that the photographs cannot be saved to a visitor’s computer
4. When choosing photographs for the web site, the school is mindful of the way pupils may appear in them, and will not include images which are in any way inappropriate.
5. All links within pages, including links to external sites, should be fully tested and working and should be tested to ensure that no unsuitable material can be accessed.
6. Any e-mail links should be cleared with the persons involved and permission obtained.
7. All articles, picture or icons that are from a “third party” must have copyright clearance in writing.
8. Pages created should be of high quality without spelling/syntax errors or errors of fact.
9. All pages should link to the home page.
10. References to individual children’s full name will not be used. References to adults’ full names will only be used with permission.
11. Users should not use the school’s web site for product advertisement, commercial activities or political campaigning.
12. Any photo featuring a child will be removed immediately if requested by his or her parents.
